anyone watch the new cbc show...little mosque on the prairie...i thought it was funny at times...seeing muslim charactures making light of the stereotypes that have been attached to them was funny....it was a season premier...but i don't think they will carry anymore than a couple episodes.

I watched it last night and was a bit dissapointed with it. While there were some funny moments, I found that the show smacked of a Corner Gas rip-off ... the Toronto outsider coming to small town Sask, the coffee shop scenes, the dunce-headed local, off-track media (granted their's is a radio show and not a newspaper), they even had Fitzy (Mayor of Dog River) do a cameo.

It's a brilliant premise . . . . but they have to make sure the shots are distributed fairly evenly.

The show last night had some funny moments but the Imam folding like a cheap tent between going back to Toronto and staying should have been played out longer.

Note the question from the guy asking her if she's working for Al-Queda. I thought he was kidding at first but, no, he wasn't.

I watched it too,but I can't say that I will again,it was mildly funny...but then I am definetly not a fan of Corner Gas,find Canadian Air Farce to be plain stupid and I am known to have a great sense of humor:shrug: oh well..
Still I wish them luck with the new show!

As someone who gets a lot of flack for dating a Muslim I love the premise of this show. It's a perfect teaching tool if people choose to watch it and actually listen to the messages.
