Kitten is sneezing

Hi everyone,

I was quite pleased to find this board & hopefully I can get a wee bit of input for my kittys problem.

My little grey tabby (Trouble) is aproximately 6 months old. He was just neutered on Wednesday, 6 days ago. He seemed to be recovering just fine but last night he started to sneeze. I wasn't too concerned at first but this morning he is still sneezing. It's not constantly but I've never had this problem with a cat before & I'm wondering if it's something I need to be concerned about? Could it be just a cold he picked up at the vets or something? He is a strictly indoor cat and doesn't have contact with other animals. He is normally so rambunctious and always into something, hence the name Trouble. He's not really acting sick just a bit more laid back than normal, so I hate to run off to the vet like a crazy lady for nothing.

Do cats get colds like we do, or should I be worried?

Thanks so much. This is great resource you have going here.

Hi there, anytime a pet goes in for surgery and comes back sneezy, it's time to head back to the vet. It's possible he picked up anything from a respiratory infection to bordatella - both your vet can diagnose quickly and treat. You're not crazy by any stretch, so please take him back in with your head held high :) Keep us posted on how he fares and welcome to the board :pawprint:

Thanks for your reply. I took your advice & went back to the vet. Trouble is now on a two week regimine of antibiotics. I'm glad I didn't wait till it got worse.

Thanks :)
