What's he?

So is this one a Cooper's Hawk? It would seem he fits the bill more so than the last one I posted. He is about 1/3 the size of the other fella'. This one is the size of a crow. He was sitting on a post across the driveway from me this morning. I managed to come back into the house and get the camera and then snap some pics from about 10 feet away before he got irritated and flew away.

And a couple more just because I like the way they came out. :D

Wow great shots 14+...Still hard to tell. If I was guessing I wouold say this one is a sharp shinned. I will post a couple of pics from a raptor identification site and as you will see they have striking similarities but different??
First the Coopers hawk and then the Sharp Shinned |
Mmmm, ok. So a Sharp Shinned.:thumbs up Thanks Winston. He's pretty tiny. I'm hoping he's sticking around to help clean up the plethora of meeces I have hiding in my flower beds. :fingerscr Hopefully there is enough of them he will leave the birds alone.

Nice shots Gerri :thumbs up.....Just tell him to leave the meeces alone please :frustrated:

Nooooooo!!!! I want the meeces gone. I'd rather them than the birds. Birds don't come in the house and poop all over everything. Not to mention the sicknesses. :yuck: Meeces may by cute but :yuck:!! |
