when or if to worm a mommy cat?
hi
my cat honey had her kittens on saturday nite and early sunday morning. They both died late sunday, I called the vet and they told me that the kittens were either premature or had birth defects. I also asked them about the fact that she had them several hours apart, one at 7 pm and one at about 5am. The vet told me it happens. I had called the vet saturday nite because i was worried about her (being a first time mommy and only having what i thought was one). He told me to leave her alone with the kitten because she was taking care of it. When the second one came i was told the same thing. I called the vet after they passed away to see if i needed to do anything for her and they said she will dry up in about a week, to keep an eye on her for infections and such. She seems fine is eating and acting normal. So sorry for babbling on. I was wondering if i still need to deworm her? and when should i do this? |
if you bring the vet a fecal sample they can tell you if she needs deworming or not,
incedentally it would be a great time to mention spayign the cat to the vet, she can get pregnant again very soon after having her babies so she needs to be spayed ASAP Eleni |
i plan to have her spayed. she is an indoor cat and all males are fixed.
