How many hours does your cat sleep?

Hi members,

Seems to me my cats are crazy sleepers and I know cats normally sleep loads - but curious to know what the averages are.

Their average schedule seems to be
5AM - wake Marko for breakfast
5:30 AM - Back to bed
8AM - get up and have a drink, maybe a pee. Play a bit, groom.
10AM - Back to bed till lunch.
1PM - Get up and eat lunch
2PM - back to bed.
3pm - get up and play for Baci - Twiggy will sleep till 5-6pm.
8pm - Cats are ready to hunker down and by 9pm they are fast asleep.

Normal? too much sleep? or enviable?

Thx!

My daughter's cat would wake her at 5:30 AM by meowing in her face and not bother her husband. So she starting feeding the cat a little food before
bed time and this has let her sleep later . I read cats will sleep 15 hours per day and play at night.

Marko that sounds just about right! My sweet Tabby slept about 23 hours a day! I have always said in my afterlife I want to come back as a cat (with a good owner!) because I could sleep 23 hours a day, eat for a bit, play for abit and go back to sleep!!!! :thumbs up

Hi,
My cats are most active at sunrise and sunset, this is when they eat, walk around, run around, watch the birds outside, drink and use the litter.
After that they will lay around, sleep, groom, lay on my lap and want cuddles.
They pretty much sleep part of the morning, the afternoon and the evening.
They usually have a burst of energy around 2 or 3 am, time at which they will run frantically around the house chasing each other, and then take a nap until sunrise.
I would say that they lay around for about 16 to 17 hours. Sometimes in this time frame they sleep, and at other times they just ''chill'' and rest.
