Unusual breathing noise

I have a 7 year old female pekingese. Just this past little while, she has started making strange noises when she inhales through her mouth. She puts her head up in the air, opens her mouth slightly and makes a strange noise in her throat when she inhales. It usually lasts for a few hours. Is it possible that she could have a post nasal drip? Thanks.

I"m no vet, but this could be something serious, like problems with her trachea, especially since this came on rather suddenly.

If you dog is having trouble breathing get her to the vet right away!
