Beautiful shot, chico! I always get excited when I see my first monarch, too! :D Doesn't feel like summer without a monarch or two visiting the yard.

I wish there was some way to pass of the REALLY big mosquitos as a Monarch, then I may just feel like we were having a summer
But unfortunately, I haven't seen any butterflies at all. Just TONS of mosquitos

We won't have a summer this year :(

Not silly to be excited at all, and it's a beautiful photo, Chico. Seeing one up there means it's going to be a long time till we see them in my garden. LOL . Gives me time to prepare for them though, I am putting in 3 more Buddlejas(butterfly bushes) for them, I reckon if they wander the world they need looking after. :) Anyway, a rich purple, a lilac and a pink to go with the two white ones I have. Hope they don't just bring Cabbage Moths instead. LOL.
I feel for you, Robyn, re the mozzies, our last Summer was the worst ever here for them thanks to the tropical weather we got with the tail ends of the cyclones from up north. They gave the dog's Hell, we used just so much insect repellant on them.

Beautiful picture, I have not seen one yet

Thank's girls!
I have 3 butterfly bushes just about to bloom, hoping to find some Milk-Weed,maybe too late for this year though:shrug:

hazelrunpack July 12th, 2011 08:35 AM

The milkweed that volunteered in my shady hummingbird garden is blooming profusely this year! Haven't seen any monarchs there, yet, though...
