Vitamin B shots
My dog chewed on rat poison some hours ago (I don't think he swallowed any bits) and I called my vet to ask for advice. He said he'd be alright, but that I should take him to his clinic tomorrow for a vit B shot. My question is if a vit B shot will be of any help to the dog after some 14 hours since chewing on the poison, and if taking the shot could cause any side-effects.

Why waste time posting on a computer...If it were *me*, I would be already heading to the vet's.
Btw, .......never mind, you may try to self treat at home if I go further. |
Well if the vet said it could wait till tomorrow, I would take thier word on it. you're sure that the dog didn't swallow any of the poison? it only takes a small amount. My grandmas/my dog was poisioned with rat poison it was a horrible way to die (we put him down after the symptoms showed up)

Karin, the vet's was closed at the time this happened (and any other clinic for that matter). All I could do was call my vet on his mobile.
Anyway, I took him to the doctor today. He gave him an IV with vitamin K and scheduled him for a blood test on Thursday. I hope everything turns out alright. |
