Allergy to OES?

Hello, guys,

Our family loves OES and plan to get a puppy from a breeder. However, my son is allergic to dog. I have read lots of articles on this subject. Some say that oes is hypoallergenicergic and only shed when it is groomed while others say it will cause allergy.

I assume that you guys are experts on this subject and will really appreciate some of your advice.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you,

Tony

Hi, Tony. Welcome to the board.

No dog, unfortunately, is 'hypoallergenic'. If your son has a bad allergy to dogs, likely he will react to an OES, too. The only way to know for sure is to expose him to OES dander. Is the breeder willing to let you and your family come visit the dogs and see if your son shows symptoms?

Hazel good advice. I too, am allergic to many dogs. When I looked into getting my current monster,l I stuck my face right into his fur to see if I'd react.
They should know right away if the child does that to an adult dog. Adult, not pups. Pups have baby fur.
A good breeder would not want to sell a pup knowing the new family may have to get rid of it right away.
(ps what is an OES?)
