hello

hi im new to this site, any way just found a stray cat she is beautiful very thin,i think she maybe pregnant! and ive noticed a little blood coming from
behind, taking her vets first thing monday morning,we have named her kitty. :)i just hope everthing is ok,me and my girls have fallen in love with her.:p

HI and welcome!!:) Thanks for taking in the stray kitty! The best and kindest thing would be to have her spayed right now.

Strays are often very depleted and malnourished and giving birth and nursing a litter is extremely hard for them. Kittens born to these mothers can have problems too.

hi thanks for ur reply, that is what i intend to do get her spayed, she only looks like a kitten herself.she is so adorable!!!! :pawprint:

Sounds like your kitty is very smart too, she chose the right family to call her own.

Thank you, and I'm sure she will be thanking you many times over!

hey everyone thanks for all your replies,im taking kitty vets first thing in the morning (mon) and will let you know how she gets on,hopefully shes not pregnant but if she is i'll just have to deal with it and keep them! not really my husband wouldn't be too happy,he's gone away for the weekend and doesn't even know about kitty,he'll get a shock when he comes home tonight! no he'll be fine i've got him wrapped round my little finger!! :p Kitty seems to have settled in really well shes not stopped purrring and wants fussing all the time i think shes just happy to be safe and warm, bless her. Does anyone know how long i should leave her in for?
thanks nice meeting you all :grouphug:

I would keep her inside for good. The outside world can be very rough and once she is spayed she should be quite content to purr in a warm cozy spot next to you and your family. With a litter box, food & water and plenty love life will be just grand for her.

chico2 July 3rd, 2005 04:23 PM

I agree with Karin, she will be much safer being an indoor cat,she might not even want to go outside again after her experience.
I don't know about the UK,but here in Canada a lot of cats are kept indoors all the time and live long happy lives.
My own 3 cats love to go outside, but they only go out with me and I make sure they do not jump the fence,I have a big backyard and they seem perfectly content just staying there with me.
Lets hope she's not pregnant!!

hi all, took kitty to the vets, shes fine no babies or so she thinks could be just in season ive got to wait 4 wks to see if she bleeds again if she does they are going to spade her, shes been wormed and deflead, shes a little under wieght they gave me some special food to build her up,when we go back shes got to have her vaccinations. :queen:

chico2 July 4th, 2005 06:59 AM

Keeley, thank's for the update!! That's very good news.. :thumbs up
I've only ever had one female cat and she was spayed as a kitten, why does the vet want to wait another 4 weeks?? Not that it matters too much,as long as she is kept in-doors..
We love to see a pic of her... :)

keeley July 4th, 2005 10:16 AM

The vet wants to see if she comes into season again, they come into season every 3/4 weeks, she said she could be miscarrying but doesnt think so,so ive got to keep an eye on the bleeding, because shes stray we dont know if shes been spayed or not,so this i suppose is the only way we will find out. :pawprint:
