A trip to Picklejar

Pete and Ruby were up at Picklejar Lakes in Alberta's Kananaskis Country last weekend, where they found chilly temperatures and yes, some lingering snow in the shadows.

Below, Ruby and Pete sprint through some wildflowers on the way higher . . .

Oh, man, Rick, what a pair of lucky dogs!! They look like they're feeling right at home--both on the trails and with each other! :cloud9: I'm so glad this worked out so well for all of you!

How nice it was for Pete to teach Ruby to swim, too! What a great big bro he's turning out to be. :D

Sensational photo's, Rick. Such magnificent scenery and I love the first one of them tongueing it up the mountain, they looks so strong and happy. Nice place for Ruby to have her swimming lessons, thought it looks kind of cold with the snow in the background. :) Such lucky dogs .

Rick beautiful pics as always and the pups look like they are having wonderful adventures! How are they getting along? What are their personalities like? How are they getting along with the kitty? I forget how old they are too.

As always wonderful pictures Rick. Those two sure have settled in nicely it seems. Is Polly comfortable with them both now? What a truly amazing life you have given these two.

Polly was never uncomfortable with them.

Like Abby and Keeper before them, however, Pete and Ruby are terrified of our two-footed Polly.

Polly makes her own space, in spite of her handicap.

Ruby is getting closer to two years of age and Pete is about 2.75 years of age. They get along fine. Pete is pretty laid-back but definitely a guy and physically faster, more agile and stronger than Ruby. However, she still harbours pretensions of dominance and is a bit of a scamp . . . . she is very, very smart, almost coyote smart.

Absolutely beautiful!!! Now I know why I wanted to move to this part of the country!! Last fall when we drove to Pincher Creek, I was so excited to see mountains again! We didn't go further as it was getting late but I saw them again :) Hoping to make a trip after the tourists go home and before it gets too cold.

If I get organized enough to get my paints out again, would it be ok if I attempted to paint some of your pics, puppers included??
