Hi..I am new to this so here goes...we have two dogs maddy-5 pug/cattledog mix and mojo-1 tree walker coonhound mix....here is our problem..poop..so Mojo has something in his poop that looks like macadamia nuts (we don't have any, he doesn't have access to any)..brought it to the vet and they said chesnuts..(again we don't have a tree and it's not chesnut season)..Both dogs have had runny/mucusy poop and are on Metronizadole..there poop looks better, but just saw more 'chesnuts' in his poop this morning..any thoughts??????

sounds like some kind of worms? has the vet run a fecal test?

Welcome to the forum!

Do the doogers have access to the yard and if so have you checked all around to see what might be falling?

I hate to ask this.... but can you describe the poopy object?
(colour size etc.) Is it just 1 object per poo or multiple objects?

fecal test - good idea Winston - if it really is some kind of foreign object like a nut, I'm guessing the techs can see that. If it's a worm or parasite - they'll surely see that as well.

Maybe squirrels are bringing the nuts into the yard. I kept finding walnut shells in my yard and there are no walnuts trees in sight. A neighbor feed walnuts to the squirrels and they buried all over the place and even in a person flower pots.
