Introducing Pixi

In May I decided to add another furbaby, hoping Lilly would appreciate a companion, she didn't at first but they're slowly getting better with each other. They have some really cute moments nose to nose saying hello, and then there are the not so cute ones where they're chasing each other. Lol.

This tiny little girl is Pixi she's 13 months. She was trapped by a rescue group at 8 months old with her approx 4 day old baby. There were a few other cats they trapped in the same abandoned house. She's skittish with other people but warmed up to me pretty quickly. Even though she was living in a colony with little human contact she's not feral though she shows signs when picked up or when outside the apartment or when other people are around.

This was just taken tonight - only a few times have they both been up there together :lovestruck:

8 mos with a 4-day-old kitten! :yell: Poor baby having babies! Well, she's fallen on her feet now and no mistake! :cloud9:

She's absolutely gorgeous, growler, and Lilly is looking very regal and happy, too. :lovestruck: Congratulations on your new addition!

JD has that same orange chew snake, by the way. When he gets in his "I gotta chomp something!" moods, it's been a hand saver!

I got it for Lilly last year as she has a habit of chewing things she shouldn't (that's a whole other drama story) but neither of the cats really want much to do with it lol

Hi there growler~Gatekeeper:

Nice to see you again.

Your newest fur baby Pixi looks to be a very pleasant little girl. Hope you get many years of enjoyment from her.

Pixi and Lily look very content on the scratch post. :goodvibes: :D

They're just adorable! :lovestruck: Was Pixi very feral when they trapped her?

hazelrunpack September 3rd, 2018 08:18 PM

Oh, never mind on that last question. I see you answered in in the OP! I'm not the most observant person around, I guess.

Lol the rescue said they didn't even need to trap her they just picked up the baby put in her in a crate & then just picked up Pixi & put her in w/her baby, she was happy to follow her baby :cloud9:.

The rescue sent a pic of one of the rooms in the abandoned house they found them in, it looks maybe a bit like a hoarding situation (stuff not animals) or a midnight dash w/ stuff left everywhere. I wonder if it was Pixi & her littermates that were born in the house and left there to fend for themselves, then along comes a neighbourhood tom. One of the others they picked up w/Pixi definitely looks like she could be her littermate, was more skittish & was the last/hardest to trap.

Being a bit of a pack rat, I can sort of see the hoarding stuff part of it :p, but how can anyone just abandon animals when they leave? Breaks my heart to see them left or dumped. I still shudder to think what would have happened to JD if he hadn't heard me working in the shed and come running. Thankfully, he wasn't feral at all. He must've been dumped only a day or two earlier.

Yeah, I don't know either. At this point it's all just speculation as to what happened in that house & the reason it & the cats were abandoned. We'll probably never know the story, same with JD.
