Is it harmfull to neuter a 4yr yr old dog

Hello,

I own a 4yr old female Pomeranian and has been in heat twice a year.

From what I was told from my friends and colleages is that, if I don't neuter her as soon as possible, she could be at risk in getting breat cancer. Is that possible? I don't want her to have puppies.

Thank you,

Fix her! Theres no trouble with a 4 year old being fixed.. The vet will do a couple tests to make sure she is okay to spay.

I know getting neutured decreases the risk of prostate cancer in males so it may be similar for females & breast cancer.

Goodluck!!

spaying

Spaying a female and neutering a male prevents many problems.
A large percentage of unspayed females as they age will develop uterine infections and need ER services which are costly, not to mention the dog can die from these problems. It is common for females to develop breast tumors also. Be a good pet owner and spay your dog.
