Lots, Proper cage, heat, light ( uva/uvb lights are expensive and need to be changed before they burn out) food and a good local vet that specializes in herps. I have "the complete idiots guide to reptiles and amphibians" lots of "reptile usa" mags, books on my type of lizard and a vet not to far. I think I read somewhere that Chams are not the best for beginners. Beardies are a good starter. I'll help all I can. Let me know what type you are looking at and I can check it out in my sources. Check your local library for books too.
