American staff/pit mix needs a new home urgently

Hello,
I know that a lot of Pit owners are in the same position as me, but I am hoping that I can find someone that will save my dog. I recently moved into a rented home and the landlords are now having a difficult time getting insurance due to the fact that I have a pit. I cannot afford to move and even though it breaks my heart I have to find my dear friend a new home. Hope is 4 yrs old, spayed, fully obedience trained. She prefers women, she was abused by a man. The humane society is not taking any more dogs, escpecially pits as they are full of them. I am desperately trying to find her a home before the land lord's time frame is up. I believe I have 10 days left. I do not want to call animal services as she will be put down. She happily settles in with any other animal. If you are a man that is good with dogs I am sure you can win her over. She is a real sweetheart that can be either an outside dog or inside. She loves to cuddle up and she is affectionate when she gets to know you. Please help me save my dog.

I assume you are in Ontario but am not sure. Whereabouts are you located? That helps for suggestions. Thanks.

Hello Benice,

Where are you located and where did you get your dog from?

If you are a resident of ontario, there are laws that protect you if you are a pet owner. You can tell your landlord this, as he/she should be aware of them and your rights. What happened to your landlords previous insurance?

I currenty rent a home, and have been offerd two more to rent, both parties are aware I have a pit and a rotie, they don't seem to worried about insurance. There was a thread on insurance a while back, some companies to not disriminate on breeds. Your location would help a lot to find your girl a home.
