Missing African Grey in Toronto - Has been found!

Willy got home on July 6th. A wonderful woman found him and brought him back to us. Thank you!

Willy was lost at about 5:30 on July 3, 2005. He's a Timneh African Grey, so a bit smaller and darker red on the tail.
Lost in the Spadina & Dupont area. He's flying pretty well and could have travelled quite far.

Please alert any bird watchers you know.
Call 416-960-9934 or 416-963-5665.

Thanks!

Nancy

He is beautiful Nancy! I hope you get him back. I just heard from someone who was reunited with their bird after it flew from Oshawa to Toronto!

Grey lost and found

Many people finding a bird like that wouldn't have returned him. You are very lucky to have found him. Please clip his wings. It is safer when moving around your home as well as minimizing the chance that this could ever happen again. I do parrot rescue here in Ottawa and clip wings as soon as they arrive at my home. Sometimes I clip them before I bring them home. My cockatoo wouldn't fly even if you tried to make her but I still clip her wings. She goes camping with us every year (loves it) and I would hate that she would get spooked and try. As of yet she never has but just in case be prepared for anything.

Do you have any pictures of your cockatoo camping? I just love those birds.

I don't but we are going camping in a few weeks so I will take some then.
