cats neck

we have no clue how it happend but we have an indoor cat that has a medium size cut on its neck (missing hair raw etc) it has gotten no worst or no better yet and it has been a week and a bit we plan on taking it to the vet tomorrow just wanted to give it a chance to get better. Just wondering if you have any idea what my be causing this.

It could be anything, but a cut, would rule out allergies...maybe he just got into a tight spot,a spot where he was not supposed to go and got hurt.
At least my cats are always trying to sqeeze into strange places :D
But if it's no better for a week,I probably would take him to the vet too..good luck!

One of mine got a bite from her sibling (she obviously bit too hard) and it left a really bad place on the back of her neck. It would heal, then scab over, only to start all over again, if they wrestled again.

I had to make a harness bandage for her to heal. Worked great.

Let me know, markymark if you want to know more, or you should be able to search on this site, for "bandage a cat" and see the post from June.

Good luck with your cat...
