here's cinn....dog#2

Copper'sMom April 12th, 2005 07:47 PM

IMO, the first dog looks like a shephard mix! And the second dog looks like my boy but bigger -- my baby is a Pit. They sort of look the same. Why is she selling them?? This seems odd to me!

pupyluv668 April 12th, 2005 07:50 PM

she said they're moving.....well she wants a minimal adoption fee for both of them like $200 for both? let me copy paste her email here.....next post...lol...have to pull it out from my email..lol

pupyluv668 April 12th, 2005 07:51 PM

I am in Quesnel bc canada,I have 2 females they are 7 months old all shots

What ever they are they don't look at all like this: (this girl is apparently a super champion Cane Corso from this web site: Cane Corso Go to the "Buyer Beware" section for info about how to get a good breeder.

Lizzie April 12th, 2005 07:54 PM

Well she should know what they are---they do look part cane corso to me...with uncropped ears.

I personally don't think they look like pitties or sherpherd mixes myself...hehe...you may consider asking her where she got them. If they are registered then you will know their lineage. If she got them at a puppy mill, then you may be in for some health problems.

Also, are they both males or females? from the same litter?

here is a pic I found of a show cane corso.
the first pic you have looks like a shephard yellow lab cross .

Lizzie April 12th, 2005 07:55 PM

As 7 mth old puppies they wouldn't look like that full grown, cropped eared and docked tailed cane corso that is likely a show dog.

meb999 April 12th, 2005 07:55 PM

WOW! that's a confusing e-mail!!

ummm, I also think the first looks like a shepherd mix, but the second looks like a cane corso IMO

pupyluv668 April 12th, 2005 07:55 PM

i have read once in a website the scams they do, like too good to be true prices of dogs??? since they're $100 each, i don't know where they'll hit me....shipping? or where....lol

Prin April 12th, 2005 07:56 PM

They'll hit you with genetics.

pupyluv668 April 12th, 2005 07:58 PM

oh yeah!!! they're not cane corso's alright...lol....hmmm....doubtful...maybe i shoudl email her again and ask if the dogs have papers? or maybe scan and attach to email...i dont know....il try....but she's been emailing me daily i tell you guys...lol

Writing4Fun April 12th, 2005 08:04 PM

I also agree that the first looks like a Shep cross, and the second might be a Mastiff cross, and unless she can give you papers for both dogs, you may never know for certain.

Prin April 12th, 2005 08:04 PM

I would avoid this person. Serious dog people don't hound people to take their dogs. Even the lady we got Jemma from looked for a new owner for a month before deciding on us. This person is obviously not looking out for the dogs' best interests.

Papers don't mean anything because they can be faked.

pupyluv668 April 12th, 2005 08:27 PM

thanks all so much! il try to get more info about them. judginng from the email she wrote she is willing to fly from b.c. to me. i will update you in whatever deal or emails we have. im sure she'll respond tomorrow...

BMDLuver April 12th, 2005 08:38 PM

ummmm

Does she want the $200 up front? If not, then when she arrives you can see the dogs in person and judge for yourself. It seems like a bit of a hoax though as who in their right mind would sell two Cane Corso's to some person they have never met before for $200 and fly them to you as well?

DogueLover April 12th, 2005 08:52 PM

This just sounds like a fishy deal

Cane Corsos are expensive dogs, and from her email I would really be wondering. Not only is her english questionable but she doesn`t seem too heartbroken to see the dogs going. Most people who love their pets would be torn with what to do and would be asking you a LOT of questions. She just seems to want to dump them as fast as she possibly can and that would have me worried.
I don`t think they are purebreds. They look like crosses.
Research some more so that you have no questions or doubts. If your gut tells you this is wrong LISTEN TO IT.

Flying those dogs will cost a small fortune.

Lizzie April 12th, 2005 08:58 PM

My suspicion is that this is a scam too. Perhaps they aren't even her dogs, but simply photos she found online. The scam could work like this: She'll say she's going to pay for the flight if you pay her the 200 bucks upfront. You agree, paypal her the money and then await their flight...only they aren't on the flight. There is no record of her, the dogs, or your money.

I'd be wary. If you want two large breed dogs you can go and get two for around 350 dollars from the local shelter--spayed/neutered included. You could also get dogs that are housetrained from a rescue for that much!

pupyluv668 April 12th, 2005 09:08 PM

at first i was excited in reading her email since i am really looking for a dog...but as we emailed each other everyday, i got more suspicious....hmmm.....well im not paying $200 online here....nor will i pay just to see HER get off the plane..lol she's no camilla and charles that's for sure...lol...no way....its scary when these things happen...i mean people taking advantage of other people who are sincere?

Lucky Rescue April 12th, 2005 09:39 PM

Papers can be falsified and substituted. If she got these dogs at a pet store, who knows what breed they are. The second dog looks like a Blackmouth Cur and neither looks like a Cane Corso.

Agree. NOT saying this instance is a scam, but that one is fairly common.

pupyluv668 April 12th, 2005 09:50 PM

i just emailed her on how we can do about payment arrangement and shipping....we will know her answer tomorrow....STANDBY for more action! lol :p

deerclan April 12th, 2005 10:36 PM

i have to agree they dont look like corso's at all and if this lady paid that kind of money for those 2 dogs then she got burnt big time. From what i have seen corsos from a good breeder show quality puppies are $2500 and up and non show corsos are around $1500 and up, IMO i wouldn't even bother contacting her back. :D

pupyluv668 April 13th, 2005 09:23 AM

new email!!

The Cane Corso is a Itailon Mastiff. They are from the mastiff family she is
a fawn with a black mask.I am asking $100.00 each the cost to fly her would
be around the $150 to $160.00 plus around $100.00 for a kennel. The only why
I do it is cash deposit in to my bank account.Let me know what you
think. Both the girls are out of reg Cane Corso parents but are selling not
reg.Thank ps Her full name is Cinninom

okay so this is what she answered. guess this is dangerous..lol

db7 April 13th, 2005 10:18 AM

if you want/need a cane corso buy it it from a reg'd kennel. There's no such thing as a bargain purebred dog.

Why take any chance to save money buying a dog. The cost of purchasing is a small fraction of the cost of owning a dog over it's life.

You will spend $1500 a year feeding it.

db7 April 13th, 2005 10:21 AM

Also, with a breed like Cane Corso you are much better off getting a pup and socializing it yourself rather tahn relying on a stranger. I dog of that size and power *has* to be 100% reliable.

jackieb April 13th, 2005 10:39 AM

i agree neither dog looks like a cane corso
the first looks like a shepherd x
the 2nd looks like maybe a bull mastiff x lab

Lizzie April 13th, 2005 11:37 AM

Correct me if I am wrong, but two girls is not a good mix either right??

Eleni April 13th, 2005 12:20 PM

this alone would be reason enough for me to ru in the other direction.

what recourse do you ahve if she doesnt send the dog or the dog is half dead when it arrives to you?

pupyluv668 April 13th, 2005 12:42 PM

you're right guys, well i emailed her that if i would be in her place, i would get to know the person who will buy my pets first and if "I can" i would meet them personally to see if my dogs are in good hands. (that is why i gave my dog to my sis-in-law) coz i know the person personally and i know she spoils her pets like i do. i would never sell nor give away my pets to strangers. well, husband thinks its a scam too....he said no deal...lol....there you go....lol
