Hell on Hooves Cancelled
Animal Planet has decided not to air footage of the rodeo after numerous public complaints.
My opinion, good riddance, how can they air shows of people fighting cruelty and promoting awareness of animal suffering yet airing another show promoting it. 4-5 horses died within the first 2 days of the Calgary stampede, how displays like this are allowed to continue I am not sure. We look down on sports such as bull fighting yet allow and revere a very similar style "sport" within our own country. http://www.animalplanet.ca/Article.aspx?aid=18932 |
Good news. Thanks for letting us know.:thumbs up

cell, one of my sons who lives in Alberta and was at the Stampede, was horrified and had to leave.
6 horses had to be put down and one Bull who broke his back, sheer animalabuse:yell: In their defense they said, these horses would end up in a slaughter-house were it not for the Rodeo. |
Being used for rodeo before being slaughtered sounds like being tortured before being tortured and then slaughtered to me...
Another thing I dont get is when people watch wildlife shows on tv they always feel bad when baby animals are attacked or killed and always hope they escape from the predator, but will cheer as a calf gets run down, thrown over and tied up... baffling. |
