Looking for groups that rescue senior dogs w/ medical problems

Hi I live in Surrey, B.C. I am looking for a rescue facility like Rolling Dog Ranch in Montana that takes dogs labeled unadoptable by shelters because they are seniors dogs or dogs with disabilities. I have contacted the above group but thought I would have more luck with a group similiar to that is located in Canada. I am looking to help an 8 yr old German Shepherd dog who possibly has degenerative myelopathy. The dog is located in a British Columbia shelter.

Thank you for any referals you are able to give me.

Hi - there may be someone on the BC Rescue Message Board who can help this poor dog.

Good luck!

bcpetrescue board

I am familiar with the bcpetrescue board. In the 1 1/2 years I have been reading and posting on it, I rarely have found any constructive help off it. I thought if I looked further afield, I may get a better response.

I guess you are familiar with the German Shepherd Rescue of BC ?

They seem to have some older dogs there.

German Shepherd Rescue

German Shepherd Rescue is aware of this dog and is unable to help.

Thanks,

If you have a picture and description, contact Bobbie at Mature Dog Adoptions - maturedogs@sympatico.ca - she lists through Petfinder and is committed to helping older dogs. :)
