Jag stool update
 

Jags poops are firm again:thumbs up
i feed him some turkey for a few days and the runs.and then i noticed chewing at the paws.so i feed him beef heart for a couple of days then pork.and his stools firmed up.and to make sure it was the turkey.i gave him a turkey turkey neck and the runs again.gave some chicken poops have been firm again.now i just have to ajust is food amount.weighed him by the bathroom scale.same place as alway and he's down 8lbs.so no more turkey which sucks because i can get it for 89 cents a lb.so we will eat all the turkey i bought.it's all in freezer bags.

Ya and he loves turkey.he goes at it quicker then chicken.
but we can live with out it.

I find that if you run into trouble with the poops, the best thing is to sometimes just go back to basics and eliminate one thing at a time until you figure out what the culprit is.
By the way, I don't think this means you have to keep Jag off of turkey forever. While he may indeed have an allergy to turkey, you might want to give it a try again in a few months just to make sure. Sometimes it just takes a while for their systems to get fully equipped to digest all kinds of meat. Our pup couldn't handle beef at all for the first 5 months he was on raw...loose, runny poops! We didn't give up though and one day out of the blue he was fine with it. Now he eats it with no issues. Go figure :shrug:

now it's just getting the weight back on him.

sounds like something to try with the turkey.
we had runs today but the goobers jag and ben were chewing and pulling on some roots:mad: i hate when they do that but there exposing them with the way they got my back yard.:frustrated:

try giving jag a teaspoon of coconut oil per day (sold in a jar, thick like shortening and most dogs love licking from the spoon!), that's a few calories. if you're not adverse to some grains, try a frozen bagel as a treat - again lots of calories, dakotah LOVES them... he gets a few per week, sometimes with natural peanut butter. i figure it's about 5% of his diet, so that's still ok. whole-fat yogurt, cottage cheese, whole eggs as treats (even frozen is fun)... you'll figure out with time how much and what he can eat without getting the runs. you will!

ps: red meats are better for putting muscle weight on a dog, so perhapsl less chicken and more beef, pork, venison, etc. ;)

i give jag some %100 whole wheat toast with peanut butter.our treat we share after work or bed time snack.we have pork.just need to get some beef.
i'm just glad i found out what was causing it all.
