Wow! An amazing turn around!

A wee bit of background...I've got two ferrets, Draco and Bellatrix. Bellatrix bites a looooot - she'll hang in mid-air from your finger with her teeth sunk in if she's in a bad mood, and she regularly drew blood. It got to the point where I couldn't socialise Draco, and in the two months since I got Bellatrix, Draco's gotten a lot more nippy. So, with the vet's full approval, I moved Bellatrix into another cage for Draco's sake, though they see each other whenever I let them out to play.

But...wow! The change in Bellatrix! She's been in her own cage for over a week now, and only tried biting once, half-heartedly! She's calm now! I can pick her up and even give her a kiss and she's fine! It used to be you couldn't get your hand anywhere near her, and now she's a darling! She was beautifully behaved in the pet store, too, so now I wonder if it's Draco's influence...? But Draco never bit NEARLY as hard or as often as Bellatrix! It's...just...amazing how she's changed!

Yes, I'm just rambling to myself and the internet community at large ^^; But I'm actually really pleased as well. I was worried for a while I'd have to give Bellatrix away if I couldn't stop her biting, and I really didn't want to, because...hey, I love her, no matter what she does to me. I'm so glad I got to see this gentle side of her! I'm a happy pet mommy <3

With names like that, trouble was written.
Congratulations on your success, though!

could she have taken on a "mother" role with Draco and figured she had to protect him from you? and now that she's in her own quarters maybe she's more relaxed because she doesn't have guard duty

SamIam: Yes, I guess so XDD Darn my pets for living up to their names so well!

Melinda: Hm, that may be possible. Though, she's only a week older than him, and they're still both babies. If it's true, though, that's a very interesting idea :)
