Jam Recipes for Bread Machine
 

I have a bread machine that has a cycle to make jams and preserves. Anyone have any recipes they would like to share? I have made a few batches, either raspberry, blueberry or strawbery, but I find that they are not firming up and are still too runny.

A bread machine that makes jam????? Now I have seen everything.

Some jam recipes that are mechanically mashed as to manually done can lead to runny jam. Also, I find that all my freezer jam seems to be runnier than cooked ones, but I love the taste so I will put up with it being runny.

instead of using pectin, (mostly only in summer) add one rose for each cup of fruit used, rose petals are a natural pectin, I make my raspberry jam every year this way and its never runny

Melinda...what do you do with the rose petals ..do you grind them or????

not sure about in the bread machine, but its when I'm boiling the fruit for the jam and you add the rose petals and sort of smoosh them up, they more or less dissolve, pull them off one by one, just the petals go in.

the machine is a B&D - really cool to make jams in...they are delicious, actually taste like fruit without all the fake crap manufacturers sometimes add to their mix...the only complaint i have is that they are turning out oo runny.

would it make a difference using liquid pectin vs powdered pectin? i have been using the liquid, but wonder if the powder would make a difference?

It doesn't make a difference with mine and I follow the recipes to a tee.

Love4himies - what recipes do you follow? in the instruction manual that came with it, there is only 1 recipe called spiced pepper jam. thanks!
