Thundershirts

I was in our local Global store on the weekend, they have now started stocking Thundershirts, the woman who owns the store has great faith in them and uses one on one of her Border Terriers.

Apparently they work by placing pressure on certain parts of the body similar to TT.

Our Nutbars don't need them, although probably Jack could have benefited from one when he first came to live with us.

FYI she is currently retailing them at $39.99 Cdn, but that could be subject to change depending on duties etc.,

That's an interesting product. Wonder what it is that makes it work? Acupuncture type of thing?

Sounds like the same product as the Anxiety Wrap.
It uses a technique called Maintained Pressure, the same technique used to help calm autistic children.
I always thought it would work great on my cat when taking him to the vet. Getting it on him might be a whole other ball of wax though.

SCM, they are not difficult to put on at all...they are placed on the animals backs and then fastened with velcro.......and yes the same principal is used on autistic children, the owner of Global pointed that out to me.

Neat. UP until now I've been either putting sweatshirts on Ava, wrapping a beach towel tightly around her, or wrapping her in the bedsheets while I lay next to her . It does help but the wraps looks so much easier. Definitely going to be looking into getting one for her. Thanks Chris!
