3 cockers looking for homes (Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, QC)

We have 3 Cockers looking for homes right now, all are wonderful dogs, all are different from one another.

Meo is a 5 year old boy (cream & white), was left tied up just a little ways from the shelter. A hiker coming off the trails found him, Meo was just sitting patiently and waiting for someone to come back for him :( This is a real easy going guy, gets along with everyone and everything, has good obedience skills, may be a bit of a barker though (so may not be appropriate for an appartement). Very sweet and kind.

Cashew is a 4.5 year old boy (beige), abandonned by no fault of his own. We were told he bit the grandchildren (who would chase him to play), but his behaviour evaluation showed nothing of the sorts...very respectful, pretty laid back. Would love to have a quiet and relaxed environment. Knows all his basic obedience commands. :lovestruck:

Guizmo is a 9 month old boy (black), abandonned by owner. This guy is very active, needs to get out and move everyday. Is a fun little guy, very social. Does not have too much basic training, but really willing to learn. Very motivated to work just for our attention. This guy needs a firm and active owner. Did I mention he really needs to get out and move? :D

You can come visit Meo, Cashew, and Guizmo at the shelter 7 days a week, between 1pm - 6pm. Their adoption fees includes their basic vaccines, dewormer, and they is of course sterilised. They have also gone through a behaviour evaluation.

Thanks chico2! It is like a cocker festival at the shelter right now  They are sweet dogs, just hope they find homes soon...we have too many dogs waiting way too long for homes :( .

Why do you suppose there are so many cockers, brianna? Sure are cute lil guys!! :lovestruck:

Hazel - we have not had a cocker at the shelter for a little while, now 3 show up the same week! Same as all other breeds I guess, I think a lot of breeds are chosen for the wrong reasons...I wonder if there was a Disney movie our recently that had cockers in it? They are probably really easy to come by, so BYBs can get their hands on them to 'make a bundle', and they are 'sellable' because they are just 'so cute' (or something of the sorts ).

Awww, they are all so cute. :lovestruck:

The second one (Cashew) reminds me of "Chico"s" Bailey. :D

I hope they all find forever homes soon. :fingerscr :goodvibes:

I remember after Lady and the Tramp first came out there was a big 'run' on cockers--a lot of bad traits, like bad temperament, were bred in by clueless people who were just trying to make a quick buck. :( Took a long time for the breed to recover.

Brianna,we had a Cocker when my kids were small(200yrs ago:laughing:)they are such incredibly cute puppies, but IMO not the easiest to train.
Bailey whom we walk every day,is a sweetheart and we love her,but she's neither people or dog-friendly,in her case though,it has a lot to do with her owners.

There is definately a trend here Brianna. I have sent quite a few cockers to rescues. There seems to be a demand for them right now. I can remember just 2 years ago..when I had cockers to find rescues for..not many wanted. Now I have a rescue asking me if I have cockers that require rescue as they have pre-approved homes for them...strange isn't it?
If I hear of anyone looking in the Quebec area..I will forward to your shelter.
