Dr. Bronners Safe for cats?

I need to bathe my cats and didn't want to use the typical shampoo that is available for animals. I use diluted Dr. Bronners Eucalyptus on my dachshund and love that it rinses right out without leaving any residue, makes bath time a lot easier. On the other hand I know that cats can be super sensitive to certain things, like essential oils. Is it safe to use diluted Dr. Bronners on my cats?

I would only use the Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild liquid soap, not the eucalyptus one.

Why do you need to bathe your cats though? I personally don't think it's necessary unless they got something on them that you need to get off or they're not grooming themselves for whatever reason (like my 18 yr old with bad arthritis). If that's the case, I prefer Earthbath Hypoallergenic Foaming Bath. It has great ingredients and you don't have to put your cat through the trauma of getting wet.

Libra has really greasy fur and dirt that has collected at the base of his tail. I don't typically like to bathe my cats unless it's absolutely necessary. It is necessary at this time. 2 of the 4 need to be bathed. I don't like to put them through any stress, but it is necessary. I will get the baby mild for them. Luckily, they are really good about getting baths. They don't like it, but they tolerate it, with a lot of complaining. Thanks for the advice. I didn't even think of Dr. Bronners Baby Mild!

Sugarcatmom, how much is the Earthbath? There is no price.

LOL, nevermind. They have it at the pet store I get the cats food. I wish I had known about this stuff this morning when I stopped by there.
