Scabby cat
I have a one year old male neutred cat who has developed scabs over his ENTIRE body, I have another smaller cat with NO SCABS... (he even has scabs on his anus and penis) what to do
|
I've read where increasing the omega 3,6 and 9 essential fatty acids in the diet will help- they can be found in cold-pressed flaxseed oil( keep refrigerated) as well as fish oils with salmon oil being the best.

Your cat has scabs over his entire body and you haven't taken him to the vet?
|
hmmmm... Sounds trolly to me..

Scabby cat
This hasnt been going on very long, It started with a couple of small scabs on his neck, I thought he got into a fight with the other cat, I plan on taking him to the vet but I dont exactly have an extra 150 dollars right now..... I am a starving university student!

Take him anyway, be a man (even if you're not)
|
Ask the vet if you can do payments. Some clinics are nice enough to help out like that.
|
Are you actually starving? Can you borrow money from family/friends? Use a credit card? Give post dated cheques? Sell something?
How do you know it will cost 150$? |
Is it an outdoor cat? Sounds like severe bug bites. We had an outdoor cat (who loved to hide in the bushes in NW Ontario) who had scabs, especially on her face. The vet gave us some ointment and some antibiotics and we had her treated before it got as bad as what you have.
Definitely need the vet. Find a way and go. |
