Japanese Chin needs URGENT info.

Hello there, I'm hoping someone can inform about my dogs recent condition. I have been searching for websites with the kind of details concerning my dogs problem and got nothing.
Anyway, Mingh-Mingh, my one-yearold Japanese Chin who hasn't been ill since birth, was acting unusual. First thing i noticed was her right lip was very swollen. I thought it was an insect bite but i found no bites or cuts. A moment later her right eye got swollen too, next thing i know her whole face is swollen (mainly eyes & snout). I began to panic but i felt helpless cuz i have no Vet or money for a check-up. My heart was breaking so i had to call an ex for help. He drove us to the vet, where she got a shot and pills.Vet said alergic reaction and asked specifically if she was exposed to Methamphetamines, i surely said no. It turns out the week before a so called friend was dog-sitting her and also getting cracked-out on Meth. I searched for evidence and found pipes and other stuff that proved he was smoking and exposing my dog to Crystal-meth fumes. Fortunately she's back to normal but If you know anything about my situation please share. My main worries are long-term effects and if she was damaged in anyway, is it possible for inflamation to reoccur?...thanx |
Unfortunately, you need to go back to the vet and explain your situation - as well as calling the police on your dogsitter. I'll spare you a lecture on illegal drug use, but your vet is the only one that can help you detox her safely. Good luck, I hope you manage to pull her through this, and choose to have her boarded at a licensed and bonded kennel the next time you go away.

I only can suggest for next time that you should find a regular vet.
I know you state you dont have one or any money, but i would recommend putting some away now for what could happen in the future. There is also pet insurance you can purchase at a very reasonable price. I agree that you should report this previous dogsitter. And definately not ever bring your precious little doggie there again. Im glad things have cleared up this time. But its time to think of a game plan regarding veterinary care. Good luck |
My goodness! You're very lucky you didn't lose her. Poor Mingh-Mingh.
