Missing Toy Poodle $1,000 Reward

1 Attachment(s)
Trixi has been missing since April 4th where it is suspected she was picked up by a vehicle on Lougheed Hwy in Burnaby, BC. She is 8 yrs old, 8 lbs, light copper color, 1.5 inch tail. She was wearing a red leather collor with a green rabies tag.
We hope she is still out there and that she will return home soon. Have you noticed a new small dog around your neighbourhood? She is quite nervous and likes to bark at almost anything!
Here is a link to the story that ran in the local paper here.

hey My thoughts are with you on getting your girl back :grouphug:

We live in the neighbourhood also and I have been looking for Trixi. Have you had any leads or found her yet?? I think of you every day when I go by her posters, at least they are still there. Good luck to you. I hope she finds her way home.

FindTrixi May 25th, 2009 12:17 PM

No luck in finding her and have really had no leads. We have sent 1,200 copies of our poster to the BC vet association which were sent out to all members with their monthly newsletter about 10 days ago. I am just compiling a listing of groomers that I haven't contacted yet so I can send a poster to them as well. Other than that not sure what else we can do - just have to be patient and if it is meant to be we will get her back..

FindTrixi May 28th, 2009 12:44 PM

Could this be her??

I have just noticed this dog on Petfinder.com - looks very very similar. I have contacted the lady at the rescue with my story and her only reply was "sorry, this dog has already been adopted". She is now ignoring my calls and emails asking for more information on this dog ; when she received her, and if she is certain that it just had puppies - the story just seems a little odd to me, and although it may seem unlikely that Trixi would be at a rescue 900 miles away from where she went missing - anything is possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have posted ads on stockton craigslist and the local animal shelter there.
I will continue to try and contact the rescue, but their lack of response is only raising more suspicion.

According to the write up the dog they have just had babies.. Doesn;t sound liek your dog, unfortunately...unless thats a lie, but then why lie??

FindTrixi May 28th, 2009 02:51 PM

Thanks for your comment, and I know that it is probably a very slim chance that this is her.. but why would this rescue avoid me? I have literally talked/emailed 100's if not 1,000's of people over the past 2 months and this lady is either just a rude ignorant American or possibly is trying to hide something --> which is usually when/why people lie:lightbulb: This is why I have tried to contact her to get more details on where the dog came from and the story about it having puppies.

cpietra16 May 28th, 2009 02:54 PM

I think you need to talk to her because if you don't you will always wonder if it could have. Just find out if its Trixie...at least you'll know.

After a few requests, finally got some response from these people in California - I guess it was not Trixi.
I know that there are many many rescues that mean and do well but my first impression of Pups Rescue in Stockton, CA would lead me to believe that they may not be one of these - just my opinion.

We light a candle every night for Trixi and continue to hope and pray that she is still out there and that somehow she will find her way back home.
:candle: :angel2:

re:

I have dealt with that woman before. She is very rude. It wouldn't surprise me if it was your dog. I've had friends tell me she takes puppies in right away. She will tell people if they lost their pet that it was adopted or died. She is rude on the phone and even ruder in person. She can't put a cigarette down to hold a decent conversation. A friend of mine adopted a pup from her 3 years ago and he told me that she was so eager to take his money and get him out of there. He said there were puppies in pens all over the house and it was disgusting. Then! His pup had come down with parvo two days later. He tried calling her with no response. He spent a fortune on getting the dog treated and decided to give up on the lady. I would not recommend her to anyone. I can't believe the city of stockton allows her to operate.

I spoke with the people at the Lodi shelter again and am now certain this was not Trixi - they have also had a couple of this dogs pups turned in to them as well. I agree with you on your assessment of Pups rescue and hope the authorities there can do something about her operation as it would appear she is running more of a puppy mill than a rescue :loser:

Still searching

Just wanted to bump Trixi up to the top .. we recently got back from our vacation at my parents lake in Manitoba - Trixi loved to get away from the city and run free in the grass and learned to swim here after jumping in to the lake and chasing after a duck - and at the same time figured out the duck could fly and she couldn't!!

I hope wherever she is, she is running free and is happy and knows that we are still searching for her and praying for a miracle.:angel2:

chico2 August 14th, 2009 04:32 PM

I am so sorry you could not give us some good news, when I saw your post I thought maybe you had Trixi back:sad:
Still,don't give up hope,miracles do happen sometimes:pray:
