Dog false pregnancy

I have an 18 month old min pin female. She got with my male during heat and would have been due April 10th well the day came and went and no puppies, which made me happy but she is having a false pregnancy and it seems it will never go away. I have had to to the vet 3 times once early to confirm pregnancy or not 2nd to do an x-ray to make sure and third to have her put on antibiotics because she had a discharge from her vulva and I was worried about infection. My vet keeps saying just to bring her back and does not really seem to be helping. She is full of milk which worries me how long can she go on like this?
My question is when should her milk dry up? Also is it dangerous to spay during false pregnancy? I have heard yes and no. Any advice would be great. Should I go to a different Vet?
Thank you

Does he at least give you an explanation as to what's going on with her? If it was me, absolutely I'd go to a different vet if I wasn't satisfied.

:fingerscr She's back to her old self soon.

My vet just says to watch and make sure she does not show any signs of mastitus ( spelling?) I am going to call other vets in the morning, this dog is like one of my children, my male was attacked by a stray dog a month ago tomorrow and did not make it.I could not handle it if anything happened to her. I live in a town with one vet but I am going to go elsewhere.
Thank you
