House Training - Help!

I've had an 8 week old female puppy for almost a week. She has had three or four pee accidents in the house. I watch her like a hawk but it's impossible to watch her every second. I put her out after meals and naps but she still manages to pee in the house. Please help. How long can I expect this behaviour? I'm already starting to stress out about this.

I would continue to do what you are doing with regard to taking her out frequently. However I would start off a routine of taking her outside every couple of hours. This was she gets used to the routine. Also as your already doing continue to take her immediately outside after eating and as soon as she wakes up!

The other thing you could try is to tether her to you with a leash. This was she goes where you go and you are always able to monitor them for potty breaks!

Good Luck

She will get the hang of it! :thumbs up

Do you *put* her out, or actually *take* her out and praise her when she does her business outside?

I take her out and wander the yard with her. I praise her when she goes potty. I think I'm also going to try giving her a treat when she goes outside.

My dog had issues going inside for a while what realy helped for me was giving him a treat and praising the hell out of him when he woould go outside. after a week or so he stopped going in the house....if you catch them going in the house you can say firmly "No" and them taking them outside.... if you do not catch them and find the mess later do not get after them as they will no longer know why you are doing it....oh and go buy some natures miracle..... it does great for dog messes
