Dog Set On Fire

Aug 4, 2004 4:28 pm US/Eastern PHILADELPHIA (KYW) A nine-month-old puppy has been put to sleep after being set on fire while chained to her owner's home. The Pitbull's owner called police after he heard a strange noise outside of her West Wyoming Avenue home. The homeowner came outside to find Princess the puppy burned so severely that doctors determined she should be euthanized. Neighbors like Jalil Sharper say the dog had only lived in the neighborhood for two weeks and didn't deserve to be attacked: "That was a shame what they did to that dog...that was a nice dog – friendly." Police suspect paint may have been the accelerant. CBS 3's Robin Rieger reports there were no known witnesses to the crime. Police ask anyone with information to come forward. I say prosecute the owner as well. This dog could not even run for safety. |
True......unless, the owner wasn't the one who chained the said animal. (?) They didn't mention if dog had been on a chain due to owners actions or the perp had chained the dog so it couldn't get away or defend itself.

Either way, a 9mos puppy should not be left alone outside. If he had been inside with his family, no one could have hurt him.

I disagree about the chain. I think the chain was used so the puppy wouldn't run away. But who puts paint accelerant on a pup that seems to be a good pup. Why do these people have to torture defenseless animals?
