Needing your help in looking to adopt a dog...

1 Attachment(s)
Hello fellow pet lovers,

I am looking to adopt a dog from a rescue in the Ottawa, Ontario area and I have fallen in love with a dog named Laverne who was around 8 years of age (which was good since I'm looking for an older dog). I had applied to adopt her but unfortunately was too late since she was in the process of being adopted by another family.

I was wondering if anyone in the Ottawa area (willing to travel a max of 2 hours away) knows of/ has a dog needing adoption similar to this one (see attached)?

Thank you!

Hi, take a look at the website Petfinder.com there are a lot of shelters and rescues that post on it. Good luck and thank you for adopting an older dog.

Thank you for your help, I have checked Petfinder.com (it's sort of becoming a daily ritual). But the dogs that seem to match her look and age are all the way in the states and although I'd love to rescue them it's just not practical. I shall continue the search though and if you hear about a dog similar I'd really appreciate you letting me know!:thumbs up

I would call some vets up and see if they know of any older dogs needing a new home and see if they would call if it one come up.

there's a rescue in Perth...for the life of me I can't remember the exact name of it. I think it has Ark in the name though. From what I heard when we were still living there, the woman who runs it is very good.

He sure is a cutie! poor Starkey, certainly has not had a good start :grouphug: I like that in the description they tell you a lot more than other sites, like he is a barker he needs a lot of exercise, etc... his coat is looking pretty good now too.
