Your favorite breed?

So I have a question for you, what is your favorite breed? I know it's difficult to pick just one so you can name your top 3 if you want to! I just find it entertaining to see what different characteristics we look for in our dogs.

For me it would have to be:
1) German shepherd
2) Bernese mountain dog
3) Great dane

Ooooh, it's so hard to narrow it down to just 3 with all the wonderful choices!

meb999 October 12th, 2006 07:46 PM

1) BOXER (definetly waaaayyyy at the top of the list!!)
2) Great dane
3) mastiff (I like almost all mastiffs, so I won't specify!)

Hunter's_owner October 12th, 2006 07:49 PM

1) Labrador Retriever
2) Beagle
3) Difficult to pick one......maybe Golden Retriever, but its close with many others:)

List October 12th, 2006 08:03 PM

1) Bullmastiff
2)Newfoundland
3) and I love my mixed puppies !!!!

Frenchy October 12th, 2006 08:05 PM

It would be easier to pick 3 that I don't like  favorites ; 1.goldens/labs 2. big dogs 3. even bigger dogs :D just re read my post and it seemed like I didn't liked the breeds I listed!

Frenchy October 12th, 2006 09:46 PM

I know! We should start a thread about dogs we would like to have but can't ! I try to not adopt dogs that weights more than a 100 pounds.Kinda hard to help them into the car and when they get old and need help, how do I manage a 150 pounds St-Bernard? And more $ to feed. But if I could, the bigger the better! One of each bigger breeds!

rainbow October 12th, 2006 09:48 PM

1. Siberian Husky
2. Siberian Husky X
3. Labrador Retriever
3. ANY other large breed

Sorry for jumping in here, I'm sure Lukka's ma will have more valuable input, just had to scan this beautiful pic from one of my books. My good friend has been drooling over this breed for a long time so I've accompanied her to look at a few. They are just gorgeous big dogs! They can be quite protective though so it's not a dog for everyone....

wdawson October 12th, 2006 10:17 PM

my three

pitbulls\pitx
beagles
and a toss up between an irish setter and a newf.

hazelrunpack October 12th, 2006 10:30 PM

Ooooo...I think the Sarplaninac just jumped way up on my list! They sure are beautiful dogs. Thanks for the pic and info :)

So FURRY! :highfive:

mummummum October 13th, 2006 12:45 AM

I am very partial to the Four-Legged breed. :D

Seriously, there aren't any dawgz I don't like. Lots I know I could never live with (my hat goes off to all you Jack Russell people). I've met squish-faces I thought were foul-tempered OOOgly critters and I've met squish-faces who just have "Love me Alllll Over" in invisible ink on their foreheads. Though I do swear up and down in my next life, NO MORE HAIRY DAWGS (unless they can operate a vacuum and pay for their own grooming:D ).

I love Great Danes ~:cloud9: especially harlequinns:cloud9: and I adore Glen of Imaal's. Jeepers a 3rd out of all the possibilities? Nah...I can't, I love them all.

Prin October 13th, 2006 12:59 AM

Glen of Imaal's? What are those?

rainbow October 13th, 2006 01:16 AM

Prin October 13th, 2006 01:34 AM

ahh... I'm not really a terrier person, so that explains that.
Thanks rainbow.:o
