Okay, the black (seal) pup is the male and will be called Nikki. The grey one is the girl and will be called Lupa. Each are 4 weeks in these pics, but Lupa is actually 5 weeks now.

Barkingdog January 7th, 2013 10:45 PM

They're adorable ! Will their eyes be blue ? You must be in puppy heaven! Did you get the male puppy you wanted?

Dog Dancer January 7th, 2013 11:08 PM

Hi Barkingdog, yes we got the black male we wanted. Malamutes do not have blue eyes, just the huskies do (or crosses), blue eyes in a malamute is considered a flaw. I think Nikki's eyes just look blue because of the flash, they don't look it in the other pics we have. We're so happy to finally know which ones are going to be ours!:lovestruck:

Rgeurts January 8th, 2013 10:21 AM

DD, they're just GORGEOUS!!! :lovestruck: :cloud9:
I'm so glad you got the dark male you wanted :highfive:
I can't wait to watch them grow up. Shaun and I won't have any more puppies, so I will be living vicariously through you

As for the blue eyes, all puppies have blue eyes at that age. And DD is right, Mals don't have blue eyes. Some breeders will tell you it's a "flaw" if they do, but that isn't true either hehe. If a Mal has blue eyes, it's not a purebred. A lot of breeders will breed both Huskies and Mals, and once in awhile an "oops" will happen and they end up with blue eyes ;)
Or there has been Husky introduced to the bloodline somewhere along the way, which could even stem from generations back.

I love them both and think you need to post many more pics, DD!! :D

DD I am so happy for you! I havent been on much to tell you that but seeing their sweet faces! made me smile!

I hope you and DH are ready for puppy madness! They are both so beautiful! I cant wait for more pics! :thumbs up

That is great you got the puppy you wanted. I was wondering about the blue eyes because Nikki's eyes did look blue . I think is so exciting having two beautiful puppies , congratulation on your new family!

Jull January 8th, 2013 11:11 PM

:clap:such gorgeus puppies!

marko January 9th, 2013 07:57 AM

Beautiful pupsters!

Dog Dancer January 9th, 2013 11:08 AM

Thanks all. We are needless to say very excited and can't wait for Feb. 10. I must go to the vet this week and ask about a group discount :D. We are in puppy love.

Goldfields January 9th, 2013 09:57 PM

DD, they are just too cute for words! LOL. Especially Lupa in that photo. Looks like some little stuffed toy you could sit on your bed for decoration. Very sweet.

angeldogs January 10th, 2013 05:41 AM

Those two pups are gorgeous.and double the cuddle time.

Yes I can't wait for some cuddle time. Never will I buy dogs from out of town again! It sucks....

Lupa is apparently very outgoing and adventurous. The breeder says she's the first to go out every day and explore! Yay for Lupa! No new pics of Nikki yet though. She's 5 weeks here.

Goldfields January 10th, 2013 07:25 PM

She's such a pretty, soft colour, DD. It's so right too that a Malamute puppy is sitting there next to snow while my cattle dog is coming here to a dustbowl and hot weather. :) I'm not long in from watering 90% of the garden seeing it could reach 41C today, just don't know how I'm going to fit in looking after a pup. LOL.

She is so cute ! I bet you can't wait to hug your puppies.

Dog Dancer January 10th, 2013 10:01 PM

Can't wait is an understatement! GF, 41 would kill me.

Dee-O-Gee January 10th, 2013 10:06 PM

Nikki and Lupa are beautiful DD. :cloud9:

Congratulations and I too would be jumping out of my skin waiting for them to come home.

You know how we are about puppy pictures and a photo of the day would be just fine with me. Well maybe you could keep us updated with weekly photo threads but it must be for at least one year! :D

Goldfields January 11th, 2013 07:35 PM

I can cope with 41C, DD, especially if it is dry heat, but add gale force winds and that freaks me out a bit. Such bad fire weather. Just hope the little guy can manage the heat, he is coming from the top of the dividing range where it is cool. Just know that you are feeling as frustrated as I am right now. Bring on the day when our pups can arrive, hey?

My most recent pics! Both have their ears up now. Nikki is 5.5 weeks and Lupa is 6.5

Goldfields January 17th, 2013 08:31 PM

I am totally in love with Lupa! What a pretty pup she is. You'll have no trouble socialising that pair, DD, everyone will want to pat and cuddle them. :)

:cloud9::cloud9::lovestruck::lovestruck:Lupa has a very very pretty face.

marko January 18th, 2013 09:25 AM

awww man- Just gorgeous!!!!

Dog Dancer January 18th, 2013 11:27 AM

Thanks all, Miss Lupa is very photogenic isn't she (if I say so myself). Her breeder is very good at sending pics, Nikki's breeder doesn't send so many so obviously doesn't take the time to get really good ones. I think he's going to be pretty cute but I agree that right now Lupa is the looker! (Don't tell Nikki I said that K.:D) I think the breeder may have nailed her name with Moonsnoe's Diva of Coquitlam  I'm curious as to how much of her facial markings will stay and how much of them will fade out as she ages, her dam has an open face (no mask) and Lupa's is very light, I hope it doesn't totally fade away. I think Nikki may have thicker hair eventually. I can't wait to cuddle both of them though!

hazelrunpack January 19th, 2013 10:34 PM

:flirt: They're totally scrumptious, DD!!! The only good thing about having two weeks of no computer was coming back to all the updates and the lovely pics!! :lovestruck: You must be so impatient!! I'm doing the happy dance for you! :highfive: :goodvibes: :grouphug: :D

Dog Dancer January 20th, 2013 12:08 PM

Thanks Hazel, impatient? Me? Nah.... tap, tap, tap..... Nah.... tap, tap, tap.....
