your flowers are so beautiful Chico. :)
So far I just have green. |
Such pretty flowers you have Chico.
I love to see photo's of your yard, it looks so organized and whether it's a summer shot or a winter shot, the yard always looks spectacular. You must spend several hours a day just wondering around and admiring the beauty of it, and I'm sure it doesn't just happen without lots of tending to also. GREAT WORK |
Thanks Chico ! Such brilliant colours, especially on a grim day like today, remind us that summer is coming.

Poppies and Clematis, 2 of my favorite plants. Your clematis and red poppies bloom sooner than mine. Wonderful pics.

Thank's girls, fiddling in the gardens with the kitties snoozing in the sun,the birds at the feeders,is our idea of a perfect day...but then again,we are retired, little things matter the most.
I say,we,cause hubby is turning in to a great gardener with a little help:laughing: and he loves it.. Today though it's miserable and cold.:yell: |
Oh Chico, those are GORGEOUS!!!! I absolutely adore poppies and Clematis! I tried to grow both, but neither came back the next season. Guess that would be my bad green thumb again! I do best with the really hardy ones apparently, that grow no matter what. :) Soooo pretty!!!! Those Clematis are huge!!! Wow!

Smiley,Clematises are easy to grow,up against a fence or a house as long as you trim them back every spring.
I have 3 different ones on my fence, the third one is not blooming yet. |

I have 3 different ones on my fence, the third one is not blooming yet.
There is a Clematis - Clematis Montana that you never have to cut back and it grows like wildfire! I have them growing against my deck - two white and one pink.. Saves a lot of work by not having to cut them back! |
I have 7 different varieties of clematis, and I don't cut back any of them in the spring unless they're getting out of hand. Sometimes mother nature cuts them back for me by winter killing any of the old stems.
They truly are the queen of the vines. I can't seem to be able to keep a white variety alive though, I have every other colour, but can't grow a white one. I've bought a new one this year, and we'll see how it does, this one is the white sweet autum clematis, so maybe I'll have better luck with it. Cindy |
Chico and Winston....very pretty plants and I wish I had a green thumb like both of you. :D

I don't know the names of my Clematises, but the light mauve coloured one, spreads like wildfire and it has to be cut back,I have other things growing on the fence. The darker purple ones are not very aggressive.
Winson, yours are beautiful:thumbs up I see many Irises on my walks with Bailey, but have been told they don't last long,I am eagerly waiting for my lillies..here are some from last summer. |
Rainbow, anyone can have a green thumb:laughing: all it takes is some good soil, sunshine and loving care:love:
