Siamese for adoption at SPCA near me

I better start a new thread., I accidentally hijacked a thread once with a comment and felt guilty about it for a long time, lol

There is a Siamese kitty at an SPCA not far from where I live. (Remember when I was still looking - before YinYin tho I can hardly recall those days, lol)

Here she is. Do I dare visit? :)

I am including a lightened view of the pict - I have a feeling the picture on the site does not do her justice.

Go for it - two cats are definitely better than one. Without her claws, she's not likely to be dominant, which will ease the transition (you know what they say about two females, worse than two males). She's adorable.

Go, CK! What's the worst that can happen? ;) I just read the description on Petfinder... this kitty sounds like a gem :)

Thanks Lucky - the vet for the SPCA is also our vet and she says this cat is very friendly, a lovebug - sort of a Yin Yin clone. (tho she says she is hard pressed to find as laid back a cat (at the vet) as my YY. :) I am going to visit the cat (whose name is Mini Me) tomorrow. I might rename her Mei Mei so I;d have YY and Mei Mei, lol Wish me luck!

Yin Yin is very good with her claws (in the sense that she never uses them to sratch me - she does scratch her posts and sisal et al - but she likes to place her paw on my face as an endearing thing to do. It is sort of her signature hello in the morning). I just hope she will be OK with a kitty who is front declawed as this one is. This cat is also a year older than Yin Yin's mother is (she is 3) so I wonder about introduding them. YY was used to her littermates but she has also become accutomed to being Queen of all that she surveys, lol I hope being the seetheart that she is, that she will share. :)

LUCK !!!!!! :thumbs up

Clawed or declawed doesn't make much difference. Cats who have no claws can bite, but you don't want battling cats - claws or no!

IF you introduce them properly and slowly, it should go fine!:) I've intro'd cats of all ages - tame, feral, males and females - and other than minor scuffles, never had a problem yet!

Good luck CK -- can't wait to hear how it went!!!!

I went to see her - she is cute! Part Birman, part Siamese and part Heinz57. Alas, another woman who recemtly lost her kitty also is interested in her and as much as I think she'd make a wonderful sister for YY, this woman would be a great mom as well. (She is a big time cat lover - and someone who works tirelessly for kitties). So we are trying to decide who will get her. <g>

Oh let us know what is going on it has been many days. LOL Keep us posted. I hope you get this baby. Your fur baby would love a friend. And we all know if this cat is in your home it will be in a wonderful forever home and well taken care of. :D Fingers crossed for you! :D

CyberKitten March 24th, 2005 10:39 AM

Thx, we are still up in the air about it for lack of a better term. I know YY would love a friend but this woman also would provide a wonderful home and she likely needs a cat better than I do (at the moment anyway). So, I am trying to decide....
