Hi. Introducing myself and my pet family.

My name is Conners and I live on my own with my wonderful pet family.
BrandyCat is 21 yrs old and has been with me since a kitten. He has a heart murmur and when very young, suffered a heart attack which the vet said he wouldn't make it through the night. Obviously, he did. LOL But, I was told he would be on heart medication for the rest of his life and he wouldn't make it to middle age. He hasn't taken his heart medication for years now and is now finally slowing down due to old age.
Petu was being abandoned in Northen Ontario and of all places, in a blueberry patch. He was a year old, stunk like...well I better not say. LOL Had very bad manners and yelled, rather than meowing quiet. I took him to the vet, got him ALL his shots (We doubted h ever had any), had him neutered and got ear mite medication fo him and the rest of my pets, because his ears were so bad, they were bleeding inside. He's turned into a wonderful and beautiful indoor cat with loads of personality. He's 10 years old and his back feet are the size of a jackrabbit. LOL
Shasta is my 2 1/2 year old American Staffordshire. We were getting ready for her to take her test to get into the Dog Therapy program visiting with seniors and sick kids, but then that dream shattered. She has a WONDERFUL personality and well socialised to people and animals of all kinds, even wild critters.
I also have a Betta that came to be babysat this past Christmas, and decided it was better at my place than at home. LOL I've called him Ruby as he's firey red and was told he was a year and a 1/2 old. Pic of him still to come.
I hope their pictures come through as I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.

Hi Conners,

I'm new to this board too, just having joined last week. But so far it's a really nice place to hang around and brag about my pets. ;)

Your pet family is beautiful. Do the kitties bother the fish? Mine would try to eat it I'm sure.

Hi! Beautiful fur-family you have there! :) Thanks for saving the kitties!!

It's sickening to hear about your Shasta and that you and she are victims of the insane witch hunt....I have a pit bull too and she's as sweet as yours. Hope to see more pics of her.

Wow 21... Maybe that kitty will beat the record- what is it now 36? Let's hope... Welcome to the board. :)

Thank you all for those wonderful welcomes and all the kind words. You've made me feel soooo welcome!
As far as the cats going after the fish, that's not a problem. They are so used to me rescueing and housing so many different types of animals, that nothing would surprise them anymore. LOL
As for BrandyCat, I only wish he could break the record. WOW...36! But, unfortunately Rainbow Bridge is becoming more and more of a reality that I try not to think about. :(
Shasta and I might not be able to go the Dog Therapy route, but there must be something we can do together to bring cheer to others that need it. If it's possible...then I will certainly try to find it. I think I've come to the right spot to find answers and idea's.
Is there a spot where I can view all your babie's in this forum?

And don't forget to add Shasta to the "Official We Love Our Pit Bulls" thread.:)

Moody Blue March 12th, 2005 08:54 PM

I love your cats and dog

The auburn and white cat looks like a Turkish Van? Do you know if this could be his breed? I had an auburn and white T Van, I now have a gray and white marked male named Mood Blue. Your cat had the perfect head markings of this breed; the tail is the same color with this breed and a white body. Occasionally there is a colored spot on the body.
