Very Itchy Dog - Seeking Homeopathic advice please

I would appreciate any opinions, advice, suggestions concerning
any recommendations on specific Homeopathic remedies, to treat a little 9 year old dog, :dog:Pomeranian/Yorkshire Terrier mix - who has "Environmental Allergies". We live in Montreal. She recently started licking her paws alot, and just two days ago she has started scratching all over:wall: non stop- she is very very itchy and it is keeping her up at night. In the past 5 years she has been on Prednisone, :shrug:and last year was on Vanectyl-P. I would be very grateful:pray: to know if anyone can recommend any Homeopathic Remedies, and has anyone had any success? Thank you very much!

I think you need to speak to a Homeopath vet to find all the root causes of the allergies and any other issues contributing to the itchiness, instead of just trying a remedy that might not be the most effective/appropriate one. The Homeopath vet might also have a remedy that will counter-act the build up of meds in her system from the past several years.

I can't find a listing for a Homeopath vet in Quebec but you can try these in Ont:

Chidiac Animal Hospital
Barbara Ann Chidiac DVM
Hillsdale ONT
(705) 835-7005 2003

Kempenfelt Veterinary Services
Stephen Choles DVM
Hillsdale ONT
(705) 321-9924

Park Avenue Veterinary Services
Bianca Ferenczy DVM
Guelph ONT
(519) 763-6252

Vinegar water baths, but that makes doggy smell like a salad.

Epsom salt foot soak may help also.

Maybe Benadryl? Better check on that one to be safe.

Omega fatty acids in the diet may also help with overall itching. Stuff like fish oil or flax seed oil.

I completely agree. Getting at the root of the problem is necessary in order to treat it.

Off the top of my head, I can think of Dr. Helaine Haltrecht, DMV, CVA who specializes in acupuncture and is a certified veterinary herbalist. You may want to contact her for more info at Centre Veterinaire DMV, 2300, 54e Avenue, Lachine Tel: 514-633-8888

ETA: Have you looked into your dog's diet as a possible cause of her allergies?
