Training Weimaraner

I have a problem training a 2 year old Weimaraner to poop and pee in one designated area outdoors. She does it sometimes in the correct place but most of the time she goes all over the place. She also jumps on everybody and does not listen when you say stop or no:confused:

Hi Hollywood,

No really easy solutions...all require work.

Best advice is some obedience training. Look for a good school in your area.

For the poop and pee here are some basic suggestions.

Lavish praise right after the dog poops/pees in the right spot. Maybe even a food reward at first along with "great dog!!" and loads of affection.

But you have to be consistent.

As for the jumping up....keep your dog on a leash when he meets new people. Keep the leash tight so he cannot jump up. have the visitor bend down to pet the dog. praise the dog with reward.

Basically if this is done right, you will be rewarding the dog for behaving and NOT jumping up.

It's important to know that when training/teaching any animal, baby, human etc. it is a learning process and you must invest some time or it will not work.

Good luck,

Ophelia.
