Man Reunited With Stolen Dog
Man Reunited With Stolen Dog
Monday February 16, 2009 CityNews.ca Staff It was a joyful reunion for a man and his beloved chocolate lab Sunday, after the dog was stolen from outside a Cabbagetown store. Ross Fraser had tied his dog Fleefus outside a butcher shop Saturday afternoon. He noticed a man petting his dog when he looked out the window. But when he looked again, they were gone. Fraser searched for hours and posted flyers around the neighbourhood. An observant resident saw the poster, then spotted the dog. "I happened to notice the leash was the same colour as the sign had said - a red-pink, which is an odd colour for a leash. In addition, the collar was blue. And [with] those two things, I knew immediately it was the dog," revealed Lori Mark. A grateful Fraser explained what happened next. "She walked right up to him and confronted him and said, 'That dog is stolen! Give that dog back!' And [the man] just dropped the leash and said, 'Take it,' and ran off on his bicycle." Fraser says Fleefus was a little tired and hungry when he got home, but was otherwise all right. The dog-napping suspect has not been found. Nice to hear he got his dog back. Happy ending.....
Sorry, but I just don't get the whole thing of taking a dog with you to a store if you have to leave them outside...especially if the dog is people-friendly and can be led away easily.... Hopefully a lesson was learned.... |
