Bird Food Question

I need some information on bird food and was hoping some of you experts can help me out??

I know this will sound crazy but I was cleaning out a large pantry that I have today and I came across a whole load of baking supplies that were from not this Christmas but last Christmas. The items have expired but it bothers me to have to throw them in the garbage. So does anyone know if I can use any of these items to put out for birds?

This is what I have:

Quick Oats
Crushed Graham Cracker Crumbs
Filberts
Walnuts
Coconut
Wheat Germ

A few bags of chocolate chips that have turned white :D will have to go in the garbage..:frustrated:

I'm pretty sure the walnuts would be rancid and probably the filberts too. The wheat germ would be iffy. The Quick Oats, coconut and graham wafer crumbs should be okay as long as there's nothing moving in them. :D

As far as I know the white stuff on chocolate is called bloom and not a problem at all if appearance doesn't matter so close your eyes when you eat them.

Except for the nuts, which need to be tossed, and of course the chocolate, I have no idea if any of the other stuff is okay to feed birds.

Thanks Rainbow...so I should throw the nuts out? they have not been opened up yet? maybe that doesnt matter ? I also have slivered almonds...

If you taste the nuts and they taste okay to you, they're probably okay to put out as food for wildlife...but they'll probably attract more squirrels than birds. Frankly, I'd be inclined to taste the nuts and use them for human consumption if they're still good... :D
