Lab gone wild

2 Attachment(s)
I have 3 dogs 2 yellow labs father and son 13 and 11 and a 12 year old rat terrier that we rescued a couple of years ago.

My problem is with my 11 year old lab, he recently had impacted anal glands and is now pooping flat. He is also acting oddly, getting out of the gated area he has been in for over a year, (2 bedrooms and a kitchen, including his own full siz bed) jumping up on the furniture, taking pillows off the couch and unmaking the bed. He also opens my kitchen cabinets and the doors to the entertainment center.

I leave for work at 6:15 and grandpa comes over from 11 to 12 to take them out, brush them and give them treats. I get home between 4:30 AND 5

Any ideas?

Hi there,

Is it possible that your dog isn't getting as much exercise as usual...maybe because of the cold temperatures lately? It sounds like he has some pent-up energy. Has anything else in their regular routines changed lately??

Just an idea...

Cute pics by the way :D

Welcome to the forum. I agree that some more exercise might help. Also, in my experience labs are very smart and if they benefit once from achieving something then watch out. I would recommend getting some kiddy locks for the cabinets before he gets into something harmful. You could also try double gating (vertical or horizontal) the area he should be in.
