I'm a Portuguese Water dog, which was the breed of dog my family most wanted, but absolutely couldn't afford when I was in high school. Non-shedding, but still lots of fun indoors and out -- loves to swim of course, and we lived on the lake. Of course, I, unlike the Portuguese Water dog, tend to shed. :o

Hahaha. That's cute. I'm an english ****er spaniel. I love those dogs. It was the first dog I considered when I started looking for one. then I found out they are needy and don't like to be alone, so that didn't work out.

I know this is one old thread, but I was doing a search and found this test...

I'm a *wait, need to check the spelling* k, Cirneco dell'Etna! Say what???

BUT, when I looked the breed up, I can see why! And the Cirneco's face looks somewhat like my old Dobie's precious face... Awwwe! :)

Anyway, I've discovered a new breed today!

I'm a Sealyham terrier

otter
November 2nd, 2007, 09:48 PM
Frenchy.. The Sealyham originates from Wales and was developed to be the ultimate working Terrier fast and fearless as a hunter, and tough and agile enough to slip down a badger hole.
The Sealyham is an outgoing and friendly dog :D, yet a good watchdog who is devoted and loyal to his family. He has a "big-dog" bark :thumbs up, is keen, alert, determined, and has all the true Terrier characteristics. He does, however, generally have a calm and relaxed disposition . He is known to be very good with children due to his playful attitude and outgoing personality. Because the Sealyham was bred to work in packs, he also usually gets along well with other dogs of roughly the same size .

I'm learning about all sorts of new breeds...

Polish Owczarek Nizinny (PON) or Polish Lowland Sheepdog. The PON is a herding dog as his name suggests and is a hard-working and intelligent breed. He is believed to be one of the ancestors of the Bearded Collie. The PON faced virtual extinction after World War II until rescued by a Polish veterinarian.

The PON is a medium-sized dog standing up to 20 inches high at the shoulder. He has a long, shaggy but non-shedding coat that comes in a variety of colours and needs only moderate grooming. The coat is most commonly white with black, grey, or tan markings. His tail is docked at birth, or he may be born without a tail.

The Polish Nizinny is a strong, muscular dog, with a lively, amusing, and affectionate nature. He is trustworthy and faithful, and good with children and other pets if socialized from an early age. The PON is extremely willing to please and devoted to his family. These qualities make the PON a great watch and guard dog as he is suspicious of strangers.

An intelligent, perceptive animal with an excellent memory, the PON should be put into early obedience training. He needs a firm, fair, consistent, and kind master who will be the boss as he is strong-willed, stubborn, and likes to think for himself. The PON needs to be part of the family and should not be left alone for long periods. An active and agile dog, he can adapt to almost any living style but should have regular daily exercise.
