what makes a good boarding kennel?

What should I look for in a boarding kennel, when I need to leave our dog?

What makes one better than the other. Should I have specific questions in mind?

Any reccommendations for Edmonton area?

I have a place inside the city, they are my daycare place. They are very nice and have some spaces available to boarding. I've used them for 1 night. But I want to see if a country place might be more fun for her, and a possible stay for a week.

Thanks I'll check it out.

- Strict daily cleaning protocols with products that kill bacteria and viruses.
- Letting you tour the kennel area without an appointment
- Seeing the other dogs that are boarding there, checking out their temperament and demeanor towards you and the other dogs
- Check to see if there are any testimonials on the wall praising their service
- Are they a member of any accredited pet organization
- Not charging extra for things like administering medicine and extra feeding
-how much one on one time is there
-how many walks per day
-how many hours in the kennel between walks
-climate controlled in winter and summer

These are the main points I can think of.
