It is official... There will be a organized walk protesting BSL, and Michael Bryant in general, in High Park.
The walk will be at 1pm-2pm starting at Dog Hill in High Park Sunday November 28th.
If you require directions, please contact me.
We ask that this try to be a people only event, but feel free to bring along signs, flyers, friends, media, hot chocolate... Whatever you wish!
We shall walk throughout the park, and return to the Grenadier restaraunt where hopefully, God willing, members of the press shall witness our collective disdain for this proposed legislation.
This walk will coincide with others happening simultaneously throughout the province. They even have people from CNN going to the one in Windsor. This is big. There will be one other Toronto walk that day, happening along the beaches.

Hi there everybody. I am delighted to join your board and just want to say thanks to all who give their time and support freely. I was getting pretty down on the whole BSL thing until I discovered this forum, and you folks have rejuvenated my ire and resolve to do whatever I can.
Also, here is more detailed information about the walk, on behalf of my friend Sarah. The info she is requesting must be emailed to her, not me, at firstname.lastname@example.org THANKS AGAIN!:
Hello Pitbull Community. Please read to the end of this message for details
about the Protest Walk. Let's make this walk a moment in history that
neither Bryant nor the Ontario public can ignore or forget. Please try to
set aside the time to join us. Apologies in advance for the long message.
Looking forward to seeing you on November 28 from 1-3 without your dogs.
How is everyone doing? Thanks to Dani for keeping
us all informed as to the various polls and petitions online lately.
My name is Sarah and I have been working to try to knit together the various
organizations working to try to STOP THE BAN. Until the reported pitbull
attack today, we were gaining great momentum and the latest report from my
MPP was that the Liberal caucus is divided and, as we've heard, the
opposition stands with us and with the experts in opposition to the ban. The
story reported today was on page six of the Toronto Star and it would not be
unlikely that Bryant is actively seeking out negative pitbull stories to
further his backward cause.
It is critical that we stand together and keep the heat on NOW, particularly
with Bryant out there suggesting we muzzle pitbulls now - a fundamentally
undemocratic suggestion that would circumvent the Legislative process. We
can look on the bright side - Bryant is clearly concerned and is out there
actively looking for pitbull attacks to fuel his diminishing flame; however,
we need to get the GOOD DOG word out as much as possible over the next
couple of weeks as this could be all the time we have left to FIGHT THE GOOD
Here are a few things you can do, the walk is the last one so please read
1. Please keep the pressure on your MPPs. To try to get a sense of how many
petitions have been submitted, please email me to let me know if you have
actually presented a petition to your local MPP, let me know the name of
that MPP, whether they verbally agreed to present your petition and how
many signatures you gathered. Take the time to download the proper legal
petition from AdvocatesfortheUnderdog.com and go door to door, get your
friends, families and coworkers to sign and present AS MANY SIGNATURES AS
YOU HAVE to your MPP. It isn't true that you need hundreds or thousands of
signatures to make a petition, even 20 signatures counts so keep at it.
2. Please email me your own personal GOOD DOG story about your pitbulls and
why you are involved in fighting to STOP THE BAN. I am hoping to compile a
booklet of GOOD DOG stories to have ready when the legislation goes to
committee (and if Bryant doesn't take it to committee at this point, he
should and will be sued for circumnavigating proper public process - we've
kicked up enough of a fuss that a committee hearing should not be a
3. Call your MPP and speak to him/her personally to tell him/her your GOOD
DOG story. Say that you trust the experts and want their voices heard. Tell
them that you will not vote for the Liberal government in the next election
(if this is true) and tell them how many other votes you can turn against
4. Attend a PROTEST WALK ON NOVEMBER 28 FROM 1-3 IN YOUR COMMUNITY or
organize one in yoru community if there isn't one happening already. If you
can't organize one, send your GOOD DOG story to your local paper and tell
them about the walk and urge them to get out there and cover OUR STORY. Send
this email to pro-pitbull friends and to your local veterinarian so that
your community is informed. Visit www.nccpd.org for the Ottawa demonstration
walk details. DO NOT BRING DOGS as this would affect our permit. We
anticipate as many as 200 plus people at these walks so there will not be
room for dogs at our sides. We will be contacting the media and already know
of some heavy-hitting media commitments to covering these events.
5. Make up banners that illustrate your GOOD DOG in GOOD DOG situations. Put
pictures of yourself and your pet and use slogans like MY DOG IS A GOOD DOG
or INHERENTLY DOGS NOT INHERENTLY DANGEROUS etc. I'll try to come up with a
bunch over the next week but time may not permit. Feel free to bring flyers
to distribute to people as we walk but please ensure all information is
fact-based and stay away from extreme language and unsupporte statistics. We
don't want to play Bryant's game.
