Kenneling 12 yr old Shih Tzu Bichon

Hello,
Trying to night kennel a 12 yr old Shih Tzu Bichon cross but all he wants to do is bark all night. Any suggestions on how to calm him down so he can get used to it? Bark collar? Sleep/calming pills? Help! Thanks:

Is the kennel in your sleeping area? Sometimes, just moving the kennel closer to you makes the dog more relaxed.

Is he kennel-trained during the day? Will he go into it by his own choice?

I'm with HRP - we could use more info on where you plan to keep the kennel.
