Removing bandages stuck from fur - - Help?

I know I haven't posted in a (really) long time, but I need some help. I'm posting here because the health issue has been dealt with. Sunshine's torn dew claw hasbeen removed by the vet, and then wrapped with vet wrap in the middle, and really sticky bandages on the top and bottom. Those bandages are supposed to come off today.

This is where the problem is. The top and bottom bandages are really sticky and can't be removed without pulling out fur (which hurts, and I don't want to do that). We discovered this the hard way.:cry:They are also so tight I cant get scissors under to cut them loose.

How am I supposed to loosen the adhesive enough to remove the bandage without pain for Sunshine?

Have you talked to the vet? They have bandage scissors that might work better than regular scissors (we found that out the hard way, too, and ended up buying our own bandage scissors for future use...)

If you can get an edge of the sticky tape up, sometimes vaseline will soften the adhesive enough to start working the bandage loose. But it can take a really long time and lots of patience on the animal's part. (In our experience, the dogs have always lost patience with the procedure long before we did. :o )

If you have some baby scissors that might work , the tip is rounded off and not sharp like regular scissors .

My VEt would like me drop in, he'd do that for me (or a Tech would) and he wouldn't charge. Option for you?

Otherwise I was thinking maybe you could soak it in warm water? Easier with a dog.
