Severely matted dog

Anyone here had experience with severely matted dog? Any tips is highly appreciated. Links to useful sources are also very much appreciated. Thank you! :)

If the matting is severe you should probably find an experienced groomer to help out. Matts can be tricky to remove if they're very tight and very extensive, and it's easy to accidentally hurt the skin trying to remove them.
